Cookie Policy

Cookies on PageLaunch. Plain English.

We use a small number of cookies to understand how people use our site. You can accept or reject them — either way, the site works just fine. This page explains exactly what we set and why.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files websites store on your device to remember things between page loads or visits. Some are essential for a site to work. Others are used to understand how visitors use a site. Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations — PECR — and UK GDPR), we have to ask before setting non-essential cookies, and tell you what they do.

What we set, and when

Essential cookies: none. Our website does not require any cookies to function. You can reject everything and the site still works normally.

Analytics cookies (only set if you accept): we use Google Analytics 4 to measure how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where in the UK they are. We do not use it for advertising. IP addresses are anonymised. No data is used to identify you personally.

If you accept, Google sets the following cookies in your browser:

  • _ga — distinguishes unique visitors. Lasts 2 years.
  • _ga_M9V75T6NX3 — persists session state for our GA property. Lasts 2 years.

We also set one small item in your browser's localStorage (not a cookie, strictly speaking) called pl-cookie-consent. It simply remembers your choice so we don't ask again on every page.

Our default: denied

We use Google Consent Mode v2. That means analytics cookies are denied by default when you first arrive. Nothing gets stored on your device until you click Accept. If you click Reject (or simply ignore the banner), no analytics cookies are set at all.

Changing your mind

You can change your consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data for pagelaunch.co.uk — the banner will reappear on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser settings:

Third parties

When you accept analytics, data is processed by Google as our data processor. Google's privacy practices are covered in their privacy policy. We do not run advertising, retargeting, or social-media tracking pixels on this site. We do not sell or share your data with any third party for marketing purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or ask us to delete any personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to processing. If you believe we're mishandling your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
